Lumbards Cycle Hire
Lumbards is ideally located in the centre of Ashbourne with easy nearby access to the safe cycle route of the Tissington Trail. We are within easy access from surrounding areas.
We offer a wide range of bike sizes catering for adults, teens, juniors and children (min age 5) our fleet of hire bikes are regularly serviced & maintained offering you peace of mind.
All of our cycles decrease in price the longer you rent with us. We are located on Compton in Ashbourne town centre opposite Sainsbury's.
Our hire rates include helmet, padlock & bottle holder and for peace of mind each group is issued with an emergancy bag containing air pump, puncture repair kit, spanner & tyre levers

Rental Deposit
A hire insurance deposit of £50 (per bike, Max £200) is payable on commencement of hire term, refundable 48hrs after end of hire term. (See T&C's below)

Booking Requirements
Before hire can commence we will require proof of the group leaders address (driving licence, recent utility bill, bank statement etc.) date of birth (group leader restricted to over 18 yrs), photo ID number (driving licence, passport, work ID card). Providing these details at the time of booking will save time on day of hire.
Full payment for hire charges to be made at time of booking.
PAYMENT IS NON-REFUNDABLE (Excludes hire deposit)
Bike Deposit
A per bike insurance deposit of £50 (Max £200 per group) can be paid at time of booking or anytime before the start of the hire period. Payment by Debit/Credit Card only. Deposits are refunded at the end of your hire period, please see T&C's below for full details.
Hire Terms & Conditions
Hire Summary
Hire hours are: (1 days hire or part of)
9.00am - 5.00pm (Monday - Saturday)
10.00am - 4.00pm (Sundays)
Your hire return time will be shown on your hire agreement. Bikes hired for multiple days should be stored safely overnight.
Punctual return is important to check bikes in before close of business. A £2.00 charge per bike is payable for late returns. Bikes returned the following day due to business having already closed will be subject to an extra days hire charge per bike.
Each rider will be issued a safety helmet and all bikes are supplied with a bottle clip and padlock. Group leaders will be issued with an Emergancy Repair Kit. (Please note bikes are not issued with lights and should not be ridden in the dark)
You should bring your physical ID documents on the day of hire.
Dogs must not be led on leads
Bike insurance deposit must be paid by debit/credit card only either at the time of booking or any other time before the commencement of the hire period. Hire deposits are refunded at the end of the hire period once all bikes have been checked over on return. Deposit may be held if any suspected damage requires further investigation or an estimate of repair being required.

Each group leader must be over 18 years old and will be responcible for all bikes issued to the group.
All riders must be able to ride a cycle safely and not adversely affect the control of a cycle; You will be offered a helmet which has been inspected for defects before the Hire Period started. We advise the wearing of cycle helmets. If You or any member of Your group refuse to wear a helmet, You do so at Your own risk.
You accept that cycling on any surface, but especially on a public highway, cycle way or route carries its own risks and You are cycling at Your own risk.
You will assess weather conditions during the Hire Period and take the appropriate action at Your own risk and wear suitable clothing.
